Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Charlie Wen recently shared an early design for one of Thor's costumes, which was created before Chris Hemsworth was even on board for the film.

Designed as his "training outfit," the concept art shows the God of Thunder sporting a black and red outfit while holding Mjolnir at his side. "Happy 4th of July! As we celebrate our nation, I thought of sharing the Thor film concept design for his training outfit," Wen captioned the image.

Wen has created artwork for many films and video games, including God of WarDave Mirra's BMX and League of Legends. While at Marvel Studios, Wen worked on a number of different projects, such as Captain America: the First AvengerThe Avengers, Iron Man 3 and many more.

Marvel Studios' first Thor film released in 2011 and showed Chris Hemsworth as the popular hero from Marvel Comics. The film would feature the God of Thunder trying to prove his worthiness after being banished from Asgard by his father Odin. Hemsworth's Thor later appeared in Thor: The Dark WorldThor: RagnarokAvengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The God of Thunder is set to return for the fourth Thor film, Thor: Love and Thunder, which will be directed by Taika Waititi. In addition to Thor, several characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe will reappear, including Jane Foster and Valkyrie.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters on Feb. 11, 2022.
