Thor and Black Widow top movie fans' Valentine's Day choices

Thor and Black Widow aren't merely among Earth's Mightiest Heroes, they're also among its Most Dateable.

That's according to a new Fandango survey, which asked more than 1,000 movie fans which classic and contemporary film characters they'd want as their date for Valentine's Day. To Tony Stark's chagrin, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Chris Hemsworth's Thor from Avengers: Age of Ultron were the top contemporary picks.

Not that it'll soothe the billionaire playboy's bruised ego, but Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man came in fourth ... behind Chris Evans' Captain America and Daniel Craig's James Bond. Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed ("Creed") rounded out the list of contemporary male characters.

Fandango also pitted a handful of upcoming cinematic superheroes against each other in a game of "Who Would You Rather Date?" It turns out that what Deadpool lacks in looks, he makes up for with personality (the winner of each pairing is in bold):

Batman (56 percent) vs. Superman (44 percent)• Wonder Woman (66 percent) vs. Harley Quinn (34 percent)• Black Widow (77 percent) vs. Scarlet Witch (23 percent)• Deadpool (68 percent) vs. Doctor Strange (32 percent)• Mystique (80 percent) vs. Storm (20 percent)
