Originally introduced as the God of Thunder's alter-ego, Donald Blake is returning to Thor as part of the "Prey" arc. Marvel Comics has now given CBR an exclusive preview of Donny Cates, Nic Klein and Matt Wilson's Thor #9, which is the first issue of the "Prey" arc.

The preview opens with an overview of Blake and Thor's relationship, quickly asking just what happens to Blake when he switches places with Thor. The pages then see Loki explaining that he knows what happens to the two when they swap, saying to the God of Thunder, "You go to the elder-sleep. Where you can commune with the spirits and the old dead kings." However, just where Blake goes is not specified.

You can see CBR's exclusive preview of Thor #9 below alongside the solicitation information for the book, which features covers from Olivier Coipel, Greg Hildebrandt, Jenny Frison, Jeffrey Veregge, Ed McGuinness and Klein.

Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Dr. Donald Blake first appeared in 1962's Journey into Mystery #83 as Thor's alter-ego while on Earth. After discovering Mjolnir, which is disguised as a walking stick, Blake strikes a rock and transforms into Thor. Blake eventually learned that he was, in fact, always Thor and that Odin had taken away his memories so as to teach his son a lesson. Over the years, Blake became less and less important to Thor's adventures.

Thor #9, by Donny Cates, Nic Klein and Matt Wilson, goes on sale Nov. 4 from Marvel Comics.
