Being God of Thunder is no small responsibility, especially in comic books. Thor often has to carry the combined weight of his home, Asgard, and sometimes the safety of the universe he resides in. For that matter, he has certainly faced cosmic-level threats that can easily wipe out Earth by sneezing.

Thanos, The Void, Hela, even his own little brother Loki-- those are just Thor's regular weekdays. Since he's fought and defeated most of Marvel, perhaps it's time to pit him against the resident costumes of the DC universe. So, we're comparing how well Thor's thunder holds against the gods among men (and some uppity humans) of DC.

10 BATMAN (CAN DEFEAT)

Of course, he had to be here again. Batman is the most (or second most) popular superhero in DC (or in comic books) and there's no denying his achievements and contributions to his multiverse. Great as a bat may be, it still is no match against thunderstorms and will probably have to seek shelter in its cave.

That's what ought to happen if Batman were to anger Thor in some way. Bruce Wayne is incredibly bright as a human, but magic is way beyond his paygrade and comprehension. Thor will most likely bring Bruce's mansion and Batcave crashing down on his pointy bat ears. No comparison here.

9 SPECTRE (CAN'T DEFEAT)

Thankfully, Batman isn't the only cowled and angsty superhero in DC. Spectre also rocks a similar fashion sense but with a green cape. Make no mistake, however, Spectre won't be the one getting hammered in a fight against Thor-- it's most likely the other way around.

Spectre, for those of you not familiar with him, is DC's God's wrath made manifest in a mortal shell. Apparently, The Presence (god in DC) needed a better manifestation of his anger so it made Spectre. Apart from being unkillable, Spectre can also do anything and is easily on the same level as Captain Universe in Marvel which puts Thor in a great disadvantage.

8 AQUAMAN (CAN DEFEAT)

Another sad day for the King of Atlantis. While Aquaman has managed to stalemate his other more powerful peers such as Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, or even Lobo, he's easily outmatched by most of them. Seeing as Thor is somewhat Marvel's Superman in terms of popularity, he'll make quick work of Aquaman.

That is if Thor stays in the air and rains down some nasty lightning on Aquaman. If ever Aquaman manages to goad him into fighting underwater, then we might just get a dream match worthy of a crossover. After all, Thor is known to be brash and impulsive. Then again, the chances of him fighting underwater are slim.

7 DR. FATE (CAN'T DEFEAT)

We're talking about the old and classic Dr. Fate (Pre-Crisis) here who is pretty much on the same level as classic Dr. Strange. Their spells can easily rip through the multiverse and such powers could make them a tier above god-level. That means trouble for Thor.

Thor does primarily use magic in addition to his strength in order to fight. It just so happens the Dr. Fate is a more accomplished magic-user. A single whisper can erase Thor or send him somewhere really bad thus ending their fight abruptly in Fate's favor. Even Fate has some nasty spells that can wreck abstract beings, something Thor struggles to do with his hammer.

6 HAWKMAN (CAN DEFEAT)

Surprisingly, DC's closest being to Thor (apart from Wonder Woman) is Hawkman. He has a blunt weapon, can fly, and is an old-fashioned guy who sometimes alienates his modern friends and colleagues. Still, Hawkman is incredibly lame despite his cool appearance.

Even Batman might find a way to last longer in a fight with Thor than Hawkman. While Hawkman's mace is quite special and might be able to stave off the magic, he still has Thor's physical strength to worry about. Even Hawkman's best version with the Claws of Horus most likely wouldn't be enough to defeat Thor with his Mjolnir.

5 DR. MANHATTAN (CAN'T DEFEAT)

See, this guy just had to be here since Thor is just too much to handle for some of DC's heavy hitters. While Dr. Manhattan has gotten more ambiguous than actually good, we can still count him as a superhero until we know of his true intentions in Doomsday Clock. In any case, Dr. Manhattan would simply laugh at Thor's face if he cared enough about their fight.

Based on what he can do against the magic users and cosmic level heroes of DC in Doomsday Clock, Dr. Manhattan simply shrugs off everything. He doesn't bleed and also has powers similar to that of Molecule Man's in Marvel. That means Thor would likely get brushed away if he violently crosses paths with this Watchman.

4 THE FLASH (CAN DEFEAT)

While The Flash can easily defeat some of the more conventional non-magical and non-flyer metahumans of Marvel, Thor will most likely give him a hard time that will end in the God of Thunder's victory. There's the fact that Thor's lightning can easily cancel out The Flash's speedforce; it's also something that The Flash might not be able to evade since Thor's lightning is pure magic.

We also need not mention that Thor is basically untouchable since he can fly but there it is. Even if Thor can see Flash, Mjolnir ought to do the trick and can be sent towards the trickster, ending the fight with a nasty concussion.

3 SHAZAM (CAN'T DEFEAT)

Few beings can stand the full might of Thor's lightning and strength, but Shazam just might be able to. He's been withstanding pure magic lightning ever since he first transformed anyway. Additionally, Shazam easily reaches Superman's level of strength, meaning he can pretty much go toe-to-toe with Thor in a fisticuff alone.

Coupled with wisdom, speed, and many other magic powers Shazam has at his disposal, Thor will likely get exhausted by the relentless barrage of attacks. As proof, Shazam was even able to knock Superman out cold using a magic punch. If he can do that to Superman, Thor is in trouble.

2 MARTIAN MANHUNTER (CAN DEFEAT)

martian manhunter shooting lasers

This poor alien just can't catch a break, can he? Martian Manhunter, despite his strengths and powers that makes Superman's look boring, he has a weird glaring weakness (pyrophobia) and his seemingly best assets against Thor, like telepathy is something the God of Thunder has resisted before.

In fact, Thor has even resisted Phoenix Force-levels of mind invasion. That means all that's left for the Martian Manhunter to do is to rely on strength, speed, and phasing-- something that can be easily countered by Mjolnir and other magical assets at Thor's disposal.

1 SUPERMAN (CAN'T DEFEAT)

If you thought Thor's strength ceiling was limitless, wait until you see what DC did with Superman Prime. They made him the be-all, end-all superhero-- as if he needed that upgrade. In any case, Superman Prime is actually Superman from the future who has outlived everyone he knew and was no longer affected by Kryptonite.

Even the regular Superman would probably be enough to defeat Thor. It would be a close match since Superman isn't as durable against magic but Thor would definitely struggle against Superman's might, more so if he's bloodlusted. Besides, Mjolnir would certainly take a liking to Superman, just as it did with Captain America.
