Following the reveal of various behind the scenes photos from Thor: Love and Thunder, a particular Guardians of the Galaxy character has returned with a notable stylistic change influenced by Yondu.

With the film having recently begun production, set-photos revealed on Twitter show Sean Gunn returning as Kraglin Obfonteri for the next installment of Thor's saga. Having sported two different hairstyles across the previous GotG films, Kraglin looked notably different once again. His appearance now pays homage to Yondu (Michael Rooker), with a bald head enhanced by a cybernetic headpiece that allows him to control the former captain's signature weapon.

His outfit is mostly reminiscent of his attire in the previous films, with the same shade of red and overall aesthetic. The symbol of the Ravagers is still displayed on his arm and he seems to have added to the jacket by including some metallic arm guards. The headpiece itself is similar to Yondu's fin, a device he used to control his deadly Yaka Arrow. The whistle-controlled weapon was given to Kraglin following Yondu's death in Guardian's of the Galaxy 2, with a humorous end-credits scene showing he had yet to learn how to properly wield it.

More set photos revealed that other stars from the GotG films would also be joining Gunn, with Karen Gillan's Nebula also appearing to return. Her presence aboard the Benatar (The Guardian's ship) alongside Thor during the ending of Avengers: Endgame suggested she would have a further role to play.

Kraglin was even involved during the final battle against Thanos, although audiences had a hard time spotting where he appeared. A closer inspection of the last fight shows that the character actually appeared alongside the various other reinforcements brought in by Doctor Strange. Atop a flying motorcycle-like vehicle, the character can barely be seen due to the camera's distance. However, a behind the scenes photo shows Gunn did indeed film a quick cameo for the film, and he is even seen sporting his cybernetic headpiece during those events.

The film is set to reintroduce Natalie Portman's Jane Foster in a prominent role. It was also revealed that Christian Bale would be starring as the movie's villain, Gorr the God Butcher. With such a large confirmed cast, it is still unclear whether this Thor and Guardians cross-over will encompass most of the film.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
