Melissa McCarthy's audition tape for Thor: Love and Thunder has made its way online.
McCarthy recorded the video with her husband Ben Falcone during Christmas Day in Australia, joking they were "desperate" to appear in the film. The film was full of their trademark humor, including pronouncing "Marvel" like "Carvel" and even offering to work the craft services table. "You make a wonderful movie and a wonderful ice cream cake!" McCarthy said in closing.
McCarthy and Falcone were recently spotted on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder alongside Sam Neill and Matt Damon, as well as Luke Hemsworth. They were filming a scene with Asgardian actors retelling the events of Thor: Ragnarok, with McCarthy portraying the Goddess of Death Hela. Neill, Damon and Hemsworth performed a similar scene chronicling Thor: The Dark World in Ragnarok-- Neill played the king of Asgard Odin, while Hemsworth stepped into brother Chris' role as Thor and Damon played Loki.
Falcone has directed McCarthy in several films including HBO Max's Superintelligence. The duo are set to reunite for the Netflix original film Thunder Force, which casts McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as a pair of estranged friends turned superheroes. Thunder Force, which is written and directed by Falcone, will premiere on Netflix on April 9.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
