Taika Waititi is best known for his offbeat sense of humor, which often populates his films. Thus far, there is no reason to think Thor: Love and Thunder will prove to be an exception.

During an Instagram livestream and commentary of Thor:Ragnarok, Waititi offered to read an excerpt from the Love and Thunder script with Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Bruce Banner. Waititi then shifted through a mass of pages, closing in on one in particular. The page showcased Thor coming face to face with none other than Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man. "Perfectly fine. Perfectly Tony." the page reads. "You're back!" Thor exclaims. "In the rack, baby!" Tony says as the two embrace. Waititi then placed a piece of concept art over the page that showcased a new look for the insectoid gladiator Miek.

Using the Infinity Stones, Tony Stark sacrificed himself in Avengers: Endgame to save the universe from Thanos and his forces. Given Waititi's sense of humor, it is clear that the page was a fake meant to throw off eagle eyed fans. It is unknown if or when Iron Man will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Written and directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 18, 2022.
