WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 5, "On a Very Special Episode..." now streaming on Disney+.

In the midst of trying to figure out what's happening in Westview, Monica Rambeau, Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis discuss how powerful Wanda Maximoff is, with Rambeau remarking that she, "could've taken out Thanos on her own if he hadn't initiated a blitz," and Woo adds that Captain Marvel could've come close to beating the Mad Titan as well. From there, Lewis mentions that both heroes gained their powers from an Infinity Stone, cementing that Maximoff and Carol Danvers are two of most powerful Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to their connections to the stones.

Based on this logic, Jane Foster could become the most powerful Thor in the MCU come Thor: Love and Thunder thanks to the events of Thor: The Dark World. Foster is confirmed to return in the fourth film, and this time she will become The Mighty Thor. In the comics, Foster becomes a new Thor, wielding Mjolnir after Thor Odinson no longer can. As The Mighty Thor, Foster goes toe-to-toe against Odinson in Thor: The Goddess of Thunder #4, written by Jason Aaron with art by Russell Dauterman, and the God of Thunder willingly gives up the mantle of Thor once he realizes she is worthy.

While audiences have yet to see what Natalie Portman's Mighty Thor will be like, based on her adventures in The Dark World, Foster was exposed to the Reality Stone for a long period of time, so she may have developed powers from it, like how Maximoff got her powers from the Mind Stone and how Danvers got her powers from the Space Stone. While it's unclear how long Wanda was exposed to the Mind Stone during Hydra's experiments, Danvers developed her powers after being exposed to the Space Stone's energy for a short period of time. Meanwhile, Foster spent a majority of The Dark World with the Reality Stone -- also known as the Aether -- in her body.

That excessive amount of exposure would likely give Foster some form of powers, as the other stones did for Maximoff and Danvers. Foster's powers may have already developed before Love and Thunder, as her character has not been seen in the MCU since The Dark World, so what she's been doing between these two films is a mystery. If Foster developed powers after The Dark World, it would be unlikely this would go unnoticed, especially since she was formerly in a relationship with an Avenger; however, her comic counterpart was excellent at hiding her superhero identity and powers. If Foster has not been hiding her potential powers, then they may have developed later on given how it's still a mystery how the stones impact people, with Wanda and Pietro Maximoff developing very different powers despite them being derived from the same stone.

Regardless of when her powers kick in, if The Mighty Thor's powers are from the Reality Stone, then she will likely be more powerful than the MCU's primary Thor. As mentioned earlier, Maximoff nearly took out Thanos on her own, with the Mad Titan needing to call in a blitz to save him. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel was able to take out his ships on her own, and she later fights him hand to hand, with Thanos only being able to take her down after using the Power Stone. Thor, on the other hand, has lost to Thanos several times.

At the start of Avengers: Infinity War, Thor was bested by the Mad Titan, and while it was not seen how Thanos and his children defeated the Asgardians on screen, it's still a surprising defeat for the self-proclaimed  "strongest Avenger." Along with that, when Thor finally returned to Earth and plunged Stormbreaker into Thanos' chest, Thanos had the upper hand and snapped away half of all living things before escaping. Even when Thor decapitated Thanos at the start of Avengers: Endgame, the Mad Titan wasn't fighting back. Later, during the climactic battle, Thanos almost killed Thor with Stormbreaker, and he would've likely died if it wasn't for Captain America.

There is no doubt that Thor is one of the strongest Avengers in the MCU; however, when looking at the Endgame battle, it's those powered by the Infinity Stones -- Maximoff and Danvers -- that prove to be the most powerful against Thanos. Based on this logic, Foster's The Mighty Thor will likely overpower Chris Hemsworth's Thor if she does derive her powers from the Reality Stone.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
