Award-winning director and actor, Taika Waititi, shared a special moment with his daughter while filming Thor: Love and Thunder. The behind-the-scenes photos feature both of director's daughters on Thor 4's set.Posted on his Twitter page, the images show Waititi's daughters Te Hinekahu, 8, and Matewa, 5, as they shadowed their dad. Te Hinekahu can be seen watching the production monitor with the director, while Matewa acted out her role in front of the camera. Waititi provided the costumed Matewa with pointers in-between takes. The trio took turns sharing the director’s chair.
Alongside the photos, Waititi said "Sweet photos of me tenderly criticising my 5 year old's performance and telling her where she went wrong in the last take. And the aftermath." The photos were taken by unit photographer Jasin Boland.
Waititi is no stranger to sharing behind-the-scenes photos. He was recently featured in a behind-the-scenes photo with Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon. Hemsworth, who is reprising his role as Thor Odinson, shared the image on his Instagram page. This, as well as Russell Crowe's appearance on set, has the MCU fandom ready to see what the team has been up to.
Waititi joined the Thor franchise with 2017's Thor: Ragnorak, which grossed well over $800 million. The film followed Thor as he found himself imprisoned on the planet Sakaar and forced into battle against his ally and fellow Avenger Hulk. From there, Thor had to race across the universe to save his home, Asgard, from destruction.
Audiences and critics alike praised the production and the unique style that Waititi brought to the film. The native New Zealander is known for his ability to balance emotional drama and comedy. Since Ragnorak, Waititi has contributed to other major projects like Avengers: Endgame, The Mandalorian and The Suicide Squad.
Fans have been desperate for updates on the fourth installment of the Thor film franchise. With the massive success of Thor: Ragnarok and the star-studded cast, Thor: Love and Thunder promises to entertain viewers. Numerous actors are returning to reprise their roles, like Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. In addition to Russell Crowe as Zeus, Christian Bale will be joining the cast as Gorr the God Butcher as well as Melissa McCarthy as Hela.
