The highly-anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder is still a long way away from release, but fans already have some idea of the things they can expect, such as the return of a few beloved characters like Valkyrie, Korg and Jane Foster, the latter of which will make her superhero debut in the upcoming film as the new Mighty Thor.
There is likely still a lot that the filmmakers have not yet revealed. Secrecy is something of a tradition at Marvel Studios, so when Just Jared reported that director Taika Waititi had been spotted at lunch with actor Ryan Gosling, it unsurprisingly sparked rumors and discussion revolving around the possibility that Gosling may appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured a long list of prominent actors and actresses over the last decade. The details concerning Phase 4 and films such as The Eternals -- which stars Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek among others -- proves that that list will continue to grow.
No official announcements have been made regarding Gosling, and one luncheon doesn't exactly prove that he is in talks to join the MCU. While Waititi is currently attached to Thor: Love and Thunder, the director is currently developing his next project: a smaller film titled Next Goal Wins -- a Football-related film. It is just as likely that Waititi and Gosling met to discuss this project.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder starring Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth arrives in theaters November 5, 2021.
