New set photos from Thor: Love and Thunder have teased an unorthodox look for one of Thor: Ragnarok's supporting characters.
The photos feature the cast and crew, including director Taika Waititi and possibly star Chris Hemsworth setting up a scene. Thor's goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder are present, alongside a woman in a business suit complete with metallic appendages. The Marvel Thailand Fanpage, who posted the pictures on Twitter, noted that this resembles concept art featuring the insectoid gladiator Miek.
The concept art was first unveiled by Waititi last year during a livestream of Thor: Ragnarok. In addition to Miek sporting a buisness suit, there was also concept art of him -- or another member of his species -- wearing red and white battle armor. Plot details for the film remain scarce, other than Thor's former love Jane Foster wielding Mjlonir and Thor duelling Gorr the God Butcher, so it remains to be seen if Miek is trying out different outfits or if Waititi plans to expand on the character's homeworld. Other set photos from Thor: Love and Thunder have revealed Thor's new look, as well as members of the Guardians of the Galaxy who will appear in the film.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
