A new photo from Thor: Love and Thunder seemingly offers a first look at a god with ties to Black Panther.

Shared by The Cosmic Circus on Twitter, a new photo from Marvel Studios' fourth Thor movie seems to provide the first look at the Goddess Bastet, also known as Bast, played by Akosia Sabet. Also included in the image are Tessa Thompson's King Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Thor.

In February, it was reported that the goddess Bastet, who is also referred to as Bast, would appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, portrayed by Sabet. In Marvel Comics, Bast is the warrior panther goddess who led the first Wakandan to the heart-shaped herb, creating the first-ever Black Panther. The goddess was first mentioned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in Captain America: Civil War, and shown briefly in Black Panther. Bast won't be the only new god appearing in Love and Thunder, with Russell Crowe set to make his MCU debut as the god Zeus, leader of the Olympians.

Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor Odinson for Love and Thunder, which will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. According to the official synopsis, Love and Thunder will see Thor, joined by the Guardians of the Galaxy, Jane Foster (Portman) and King Valkyrie (Thompson), go up against the villainous Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. According to director Taika Waititi, Bale's Gorr is one of the best villains the MCU has seen yet.

"It's a great, really fun, weird little group of heroes, a new team for Thor with Korg, Valkyrie and The Mighty Thor," Waititi said in a previous interview. "And, in my humble opinion, we have probably the best villain that Marvel's ever had in Christian Bale."

Marvel Studios released the first teaser trailer for Love and Thunder after significant demand from fans, giving the film the shortest marketing window in the history of the MCU between the release of a first trailer and a film's release date. This was a record previously held by 2008's The Incredible Hulk, the first trailer for which was released 93 days before it premiered in theaters.

Waititi has previously stated that Love and Thunder will not only be "crazier," but much more emotional than its previous film, Thor: Ragnarok. "It's crazier. I'll tell you what's different," he said. "There'll be far more emotion in this film. And a lot more love. And a lot more thunder. And a lot more Thor, if you've seen the photos."

Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on July 8.
