In a recent interview, star Natalie Portman offered some information about her return to the role of Jane Foster in Marvel Studios' upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder.

Portman had a virtual appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! during which the actor first revealed that she doesn't know "everything" about the film. The actor then added that she was "trying to train and look like an action figure." Kimmel went on to bring up the fact that Jane Foster becomes Thor in Marvel Comics and asked Portman if her version of the character would go through a similar transformation, to which she said "yes." Portman also clarified that Foster's version of Thor is dubbed "The Mighty Thor."

Portman first appeared as Jane Foster in Marvel Studios' first Thor film, which released in 2011. She would later reprise her role in both 2013's Thor: The Dark World and 2019's Avengers: Endgame, the latter of which used archive footage from Thor: The Dark World.

Thor: Love and Thunder was announced back in 2019 and is set to begin filming in early 2021. Not much has been revealed about the film's plot, though a few other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be making appearances, including Chris Pratt's Star-Lord/Peter Quill.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Christian Bale in an unconfirmed role. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 11, 2022.
