In Norse mythology, Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher are the goats who pull Thor's chariot and are also known to consume flesh. They first appeared in Marvel Comics canon in Thor #339 and have appeared periodically -- particularly during Jason Aaron's Thor run. Director Taika Waititi previously said that Aaron's run inspired the story for Love and Thunder, with Jane Foster set to become Thor and Gorr the God Butcher acting as the main villain.

More set photos from the film have surfaced online, including Thor sporting a new costume and standing side-by-side with the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
