Thor: Love and Thunder will be unlike anything Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have seen on the big screen yet, according to one of the project's key creatives.

Andy Park, Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development, spoke to Screen Rant about his work on the upcoming film. And the artist certainly didn't hold back when hyping up writer and director Taika Waititi's follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok.

"There's a reason why there's been over a decade of successful movies and just why this franchise is growing," Park said. So Thor: Love and Thunder falls right into that where it's just pushing the boundaries of what's comfortable and what should be expected. You'll be surprised and these characters and the visuals go along with that. I think [Waititi] said it in some interview where he's just like, he's surprised that he's even -- he shouldn't be allowed to make a movie like this. And I get it. This movie is crazy wild. It's so much fun. And I simply cannot wait for everyone to see it. Because it was so much fun to work on and design so many characters and do keyframes for. It's going to be a good one. It's going to be fun."

While the artist doesn't go into details, he would certainly be privy to the creative leaps the film will make within the MCU. And as Park mentions, Waititi previously teased a very different Thor movie -- which is saying something considering how tonally unique Ragnarok was.

"It's crazier," Waititi said back in July. "I’ll tell you what's different. There'll be far more emotion in this film. And a lot more love. And a lot more thunder. And a lot more Thor, if you’ve seen the photos."

While little is known about the actual plot of the movie, it will see Natalie Portman return as Jane Foster and become Thor. Christian Bale, meanwhile, will play Gorr the God Butcher, and the film will also bring back Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and Jamie Alexanders' Sif, who's been absent since Thor: The Dark World. On the visual side, Waititi also claimed that groundbreaking new technology was employed for Thor 4, teasing something even more stunning than the Valkyrie vs. Hela flashback fight in Ragnarok.

Thor: Love and Thunder bursts into theaters July 8, 2022.
