Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson's King Valkyrie takes a vacation on Midgard in a British insurance ad.

Direct Line shared the commercial on their official Twitter page on July 1. The ad shows Valkyrie preparing to bring violent justice down upon two skateboarders who accidentally break a shop window, all before being convinced to enjoy some time off around the UK.

Thompson first appeared as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Valkyrie in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. She would reprise the role for 2019's Avengers: Endgame, and will take on the mantle of King of Asgard for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. Thompson has previously commented on a potential Valkyrie spinoff, as well as who she would like to see join her for such an outing. Thompson said, "I really miss Mark Ruffalo and I really miss Banner and Hulk, so I think he would be my number one pick. And then, really anyone from Wakanda." She added, "I would love to be able to fight alongside any of the incredible Wakandans, particularly all the incredible female warriors [the Dora Milaje]. I think Valkyrie would really relate to them."

Thompson has also discussed Valkyrie not being defined by her sexuality, something that has fallen under the spotlight with her character's ascension to the throne and budding search for a queen. Thompson said, "I think rightfully there's this real want in audiences to see characters be very clearly queer or LGBTQIA inside these spaces. And I think it's hugely important to have representation. And also as humans, I think that we are not defined by our sexuality, and by who we love." She added, "And so sometimes I think to hang a narrative completely on that is a way of actually diminishing the humanity of the character. Because you don't allow them to be anything else."

Apart from Thompson's reign as King Valkyrie, Thor: Love and Thunder will also introduce another god-king in the form of Russell Crowe's Zeus, leader of the Olympians of the Greek pantheon. These new gods will find themselves on the receiving end of Gorr the God Butcher's deicidal crusade. The villain will be portrayed by Christian Bale, who is making his MCU debut alongside Crowe in the film. Bale remarked on being cast as Gorr, saying, "I think in Gorr, they look for an actor polar opposite [of Chris Hemsworth]. Someone not relatable, a bit of a loner, creepy -- someone no one wants to be around, and nobody wants to see his ass. So I think they went, 'Yeah, we found it in Bale.'"

Bale has also lauded his co-star Chris Hemsworth and the way he has perfected the role of Thor in the MCU. "I've only seen [Thor] with Chris playing him in Ragnarok and in [Love and Thunder]. I haven't seen the others," Bale admitted. He continued, "You've got an actor who's born to play Thor. Who else could do that? He's a beast of a man, but one of the kindest you'll ever meet, and he just kills it. He's magnificent as this character."

Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on July 8.
