Bleeding Cool obtained a synopsis for the first film, due out one year from from now:

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever...Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities ... A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

Release date: December 14th, 2012

Star Billy Campbell talks with Collider about the release of the film on Blu-ray and an encounter with one special fan of the film. "We had the 20th Anniversary screening of 'The Rocketeer' at the El Capitan, back in the summer, and Thomas Jane, who played 'The Punisher' in the comic book movie, showed up at the screening in a Rocketeer outfit. It was fantastic. I met him at the after-party, and he was a huge Rocketeer fan. He was in a little make-shift Rocketeer outfit," Campbell recalls. "Inevitably, my brushes with people who have a love for the movie are very warm-hearted. The kind of people that love 'The Rocketeer' are the kind of people that love good storytelling and innocence and a better world, so to speak, so they're almost always nice people to bump into."

On Blu-ray: Out now!

Well, we know one person who won't be playing Michonne. Trueblood-online confirms that "True Blood" regular Rutina Wesley will not take up the sword, according to her representatives who tell the site that "[She] likes the show, but not true." Meanwhile, over at the official AMC site, the cast discusses the second half of the season:

Returns: 2012

I feel it in my throat. My body aches and life seems a little darker. I think I finally caught the bug that's been going around my family. It used to be a tradition that I was sick for Christmas, so I guess its fitting. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of a zinc supplement.
