Disney has reportedly tapped "The Wolverine" director James Mangold to take the wheel of its "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" origin story, "Captain Nemo."

Don't worry, Deadline reports Mangold is still developing the sequel to "The Wolverine," with "Captain Nemo" to follow sometime afterward.

The website positions this project as the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" remake that's simmered at Disney for years with David Fincher at the helm, until the filmmaker finally abandoned ship in 2013. Sebastian Gutierrez is reportedly working on the latest draft of the screenplay.

With Mangold on board, Disney may be on a collision course with Fox, which has its own adaptation of the Jules Verne classic in the works from Bryan Singer.
