It has been widely reported how eagerly actor Henry Cavill fought to be a part of Netflix's The Witcher. It is also know that Cavill's passion for the franchise began with CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. What has not been so widely reported is that the Witcher star has not finished the entirety of Geralt's story.

Cavill recently spoke to host Josh Horowitz at the first ever WitcherCon, where he revealed how he fared when playing the game on its highest difficulty setting, Death March, which he described as the "not-fun-way of playing the game," going on to explain, "It took me three go's to get past the ghouls at the beginning." Cavill added, "I may go back to [Blood and Broken Bones] and then have a go at it again, because I haven't finished the expansions, and it'd be nice to actually go back there and play through the expansions."

The expansions the Witcher star referred to are Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, released in October 2015 and May 2016, respectively. While the former can be played at any point during the course of the main game, the events of Blood and Wine place it firmly at the end of Geralt's story.

Hearts of Stone introduces Geralt of Rivia to Olgierd von Everec, an renegade whose very soul is threatened by the mysterious Man of Glass, who Geralt first encountered in White Orchard at the beginning of the base game. The witcher is sent on three quests on behalf of Olgierd and the decisions that players make decide the fate of the immortal bandit.

The last expansion, Blood and Wine, introduced the duchy of Toussaint to the game's world map. There, Geralt begins an investigation into a series of killings at the request of Duchess Anna Henrietta, who was mentioned in the novels, unlike the central characters of Hearts of Stone. She is not the only character from the novel that the expansions adapt. Blood and Wine also sees the surprising return of Regis, who was last seen in Andrzej Sapkowski's The Lady of the Lake.

Netflix unveiled a plethora of content at WitcherCon, teasing the long-awaited second season of The Witcher. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and the cast helped to showcase some of the set pieces featured in Season 2, including Kaer Morhen and some of the series' newest witchers, both those introduced in Sapkowski's novels, as well as characters created purely for the show. Cavill concluded his interview with Horowitz, and the event, with the first official trailer for The Witcher Season 2.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 17.
