Season 2 of The Witcher will soon hit screens, which means it's time for Netflix to start hyping fans up for the continuation of Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer's journey. To that end, the streaming giant recently dropped the season's second character poster, this time centered on Yennefer and her destiny.

The poster shows the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg back in her elegant gowns, against a backdrop of dark woodland and mist. "Destined to survive," the poster reads, hinting at Yen's struggle in the aftermath of Season 1's epic finale.

The poster appears to be part of a series, which will likely cover Ciri as well. The first poster released featured Geralt of Rivia and the ruins of Kaer Morhen. The destiny bestowed on him in the poster is to protect, referring to his travels and adventures with Ciri, the Lion Cub of Cintra and his new ward. The two finally met in the series finale, which ended with Ciri asking who Yennefer is-- a name she heard through one of her many visions.

When audiences saw Yennefer last, she was annihilating the remaining forces of Nilfgaard at the Battle of Sodden. Encouraged by Tissaia de Vries, Yennefer unleashed an inferno on the soldiers, forcing them into a retreat. Mysteriously, however, Yennefer vanished straight after, leaving a distraught Tissaia desperately calling for her former pupil.

The trailers for Season 2 of The Witcher revealed that Yennefer somehow became a captive of the Nilfgaardians and will be watched over by her fellow Aretuza alumna Fringilla Vigo. The most recent trailer also hinted that both will fall into the hands of the Scoia'tael, as they were both scene in chains, being transported via wagon. Their fates are unknown, but, as the poster suggests, Yennefer will undoubtedly survive.

The Witcher Season 2 will largely adapt the events and characters of Andrzek Sapkowski's Blood of Elves, as well as Time of Contempt. Photos that leaked from the set of Season 2 showed Yennefer and Ciri riding together on horseback, all but confirming that the two will eventually meet each other in the show.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 2 is set to premiere on Dec. 17 and will introduce Lambert, Eskel, Coen and Vesemir, played by Paul Bullion, Basil Eidenbenz, Yasen Atour and Kim Bodnia, respectively.
