While The Witcher Season 3 has yet to begin filming, reports have already emerged about what the Netflix fantasy series has in store for audiences and fans of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels.

According to Redanian Intelligence, Season 3 will finally bring the Beltane (also called the Belleteyn) festival to the live-action series, only the events of this celebration won't unfold as they did in Sword of Destiny. This will seemingly take place after the Battle of Sodden, early on in Season 3, and will feature not just Geralt and Yennefer, but Ciri too. It's uncertain what else lies in store when the Beltane rolls around on the Continent.

In the novels, Beltane occurred in the short story, "Something More," as a memory Geralt of Rivia fell into while delirious. This was while he was being carried on the back of a cart by a kindly merchant named Yurga. Audiences will remember this from the Season 1 finale, which did not contain any references to Beltane. The memory revealed the last encounter that took place between Geralt and Yen before the Battle of Sodden, after which Yen's fate became something of a mystery. They confront the issues between them and part ways out of a belief that neither one is good enough for the other-- being bound by destiny was not enough and "something more" was needed.

Season 2 of The Witcher ended at Kaer Morhen, with much of the school slaughtered by the demon Voleth Meir -- in possession of Ciri's body -- and the mutated basilisks she summoned. The witchers, Yennefer and Ciri were ultimately able to send the demon back to her world, where it was revealed she was a member of the Wild Hunt. The demon and the riders of the Wild Hunt will return in the upcoming prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Blood Origin is set 1,200 years before the events of the main series and will introduce a number of new characters to Netflix's Witcher universe. While most are entirely original characters, some of them will have ties to figures established in Sapkowski's novels, including Ithlinne and the Wild Hunt. It was revealed early on that the King of the Wild Hunt, Eredin Bréacc Glas, will appear in the show.

Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for The Witcher Season 3 or The Witcher: Blood Origin.
