While the popular character Vesemir hasn't been officially confirmed for The Witcher Season 2, recent reports are saying two big actors were considered for the role."Fun Fact: The role of Vesemir was offered to Michael Keaton and Mads Mikkelsen," reported Twitter user Daniel Richtman. Hinted to at the Season 1 finale of The Witcher, Vesemir appears in The Witcher book series as the oldest surviving witcher. The character trained Geralt of Rivia and other young witchers in sword-fighting and monster-slaying. Vesemir also appeared in the widely popular Witcher video game series as one of the first characters to speak to Geralt .

Both Michael Keaton and Mads Mikkelsen are long-time actors with appearances in many popular films and television shows. Keaton recently had roles in Dumbo, Spider-Man: Homecoming and American Assassin. Mikkelsen is known for his appearances in Doctor Strange, Rogue One, Polar and more.

Season 2 of The Witcher will show the return of Henry Cavill as Gerat of Rivia and Freya Allan as Cir. Several new cast members will also be joining the show's second season, including Kristofer Hivju and Carmel Laniado. Season 2 doesn't currently have a release date, though it has reportedly begun filming.
