It has been reported that at least four people involved in production of Season 2 of Netflix's The Witcher have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) and have been placed in isolation.

The main cast members are not among the positive cases, but Netflix will be testing everyone involved in the show. Filming recently returned to Arborfield Studios in Surrey, United Kingdom. Reports suggest that filming will resume once again when Netflix has ensured it is safe to do so.

Principal photography for Season 2 originally began in February but shut down in mid-March in the wake of the global pandemic. Actor Kristofer Hivju, who is set to play Nivellen in the upcoming season, was confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 shortly afterward. He has since recovered.

Following a hiatus spanning several months, production resumed in the UK in August with new health and safety protocols implemented. Completion was scheduled for completion in February 2021. It should be noted that the UK has once again gone into lockdown following a spike in COVID-19 cases. The lockdown came into effect on Nov. 5.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 1 is now available on Netflix.
