Although Netflix's hit-fantasy series, The Witcher, has its own interpretation of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and exists in its own world, it does include a number of nods to the books themselves and other adaptations, such as CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which helped bring the franchise into the mainstream. One of these nods include a subtle Easter egg hidden in the subtitles of The Witcher Season 2 episode "What is Lost." During one of the sequences, if viewers have the English closed captions turned on, they will see "wind howling." Gamers will recognize this as one of the few passive comments Geralt of Rivia makes while exploring the Continent.RELATED: The Witcher's Third Season Is Going to Be Huge

The weather in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt changes from time to time and Geralt often notes it. On top of, "Wind's howling," Geralt will utter lines like, "Look's like rain" and "dammit, a storm." While these lines aren't referenced in Season 2 of The Witcher, the show does feature more Easter eggs referencing the games. Some viewers have noted that one of the medallions hanging on the medallion tree in Kaer Morhen resembles Geralt's medallion in CD Projekt Red's games.

The video games have seemingly influenced the Netflix series in a few ways, though not in its narrative or characters. In Season 1, star Henry Cavill -- who has expressed his love for the games -- attempted to include a reference to the opening of Wild Hunt in a bath scene. Unfortunately, the tub in the scene was too large and Cavill was unable to position himself correctly.

Of course, the show has been influenced by the games in more substantial ways. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich previously explained the creative choice to include more monsters in Season 2 and suggested the reception of the games influenced the decision. "Blood of Elves lacks monsters. There's just not very many," Hissrich said, "But we know from the games that people really like to see Geralt battling monsters, so we continued adding more monsters to Season 2."

Netflix's The Witcher also introduces new creatures to its horde of monsters. Season 2 of the hit-fantasy series featured Voleth Meir, also known as the Deathless Mother. The character is a brand new demon and does not appear in the novels or the video games, though she did appear to have some connection to the Wild Hunt, which have been mentioned throughout the series since early on.

Season 2 of The Witcher is available for streaming on Netflix.
