CD Projekt Red brought Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy world to life with its Witcher video game series, concluding the story of Geralt of Rivia with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The popularity of the Continent continues to grow and fans eager to return to its wilderness, sprawling with monsters and magic, will be able to do so once again with the upcoming game, The Witcher: Monster Slayer.

The game is being developed by Spokko -- a branch of Polish developer CD Projekt Red -- who revealed the game with an announcement trailer teasing a Pokémon GO-like augmented reality experience. The brief clip showcases that app users will be able to can scan their environment for monsters like ancient Leshy lurking in the game.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer will provide players with an in-game bestiary and allow them to collect trophies from slain beasts. It has also been revealed that the game will feature monsters from the video game trilogy as well as never-before-seen creatures. Additionally, players will be able to embark on story-driven quests provided by the app.

Spokko was established in 2018 and is a subsidiary of CD Projekt Red, serving as the company game developer for mobile devices. The upcoming game will be its first major release.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer is being developed for Android and iOS by Spokko. No released date has yet been announced.
