Critics and audiences appear to disagree on almost every aspect of Netflix's The Witcher, from the quality of writing to the acting. The one facet of the show that almost everyone seems to be able to agree on is the fact that the Blaviken fight sequence, in which Geralt cuts down half a dozen bandits, is nothing short of spectacular.

Henry Cavill has now broken down that widely-praised fight and revealed all the work and effort that went into those two and a half action-filled minutes. He begins by describing the props that were used during filming -- half-swords that were not only safer to use, but allowed for complex visual effects work -- before diving into some of the physical difficulties behind the stunts and camerawork.

Since its release in December 2019, the dark fantasy series has become a worldwide hit. According to statistics released by Netflix, the series has been viewed by 76 million households-- the highest first season launch of all time. The series' release has also led to a substantial and renewed demand for Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, on which the series is based, which speaks volumes about how successful the live-action adaptation has been.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 1 is now available on Netflix. Season 2 is currently in development.
