The Walking Dead alum David Morrissey, who played the villainous Governor on two seasons of the hit AMC drama, has lined up his next project: a three-part BBC One thriller called The Driver.

Deadline reports the English actor will play Vince McKee, a man whose past mistakes lead him down a path where he finds himself ditching his job as a a taxi driver in favor of chauffeuring criminals. While The Driver might sound like a descent into badness, the television channel says it's actually a story of redemption.

Danny Brocklehurst (The Street, Accused) wrote the screenplay, which will be directed by Jamie Payne (Doctor Who). Morrissey joins a cast that already includes Colm Meaney, Ian Hart, Shaun Dingwall, Claudie Blakeley, Sacha Parkinson and Lee Ross. The show will start shooting in Manchester soon and debut later this year.
