"The Walking Dead's" Big Rick & Michonne Scene Was Almost Less Revealing

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Next World," the most recent episode of "The Walking Dead."

In "The Next World," the most recent episode of "The Walking Dead," things got steamy between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) -- until Paul "Jesus" Monroe appeared in their bedroom. As soon as they became aware of his presence, both Rick and Michonne snatched their weapons and leaped out of bed -- totally naked -- to confront him.

However, according to Andrew Lincoln, that wasn't what happened in the script. Originally, Michonne was supposed to cover herself with a sheet.

"Danai said, 'No, she wouldn't. She'd go for her sword,'" Lincoln recalled in an interview with TVLine. "And I said, 'Yeah. And Rick would go for his gun. And we'd both be naked.'"

As it were, the final shot of Rick and Michonne confronting Jesus in the nude was a campaign on Lincoln and Gurira's part. "That wasn't in the script. We both said, 'If we're going to do it, let's do it.'"

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 pm EST on AMC.
