It looks like everyone is excited about the new installment of the Red Dead Redemption game series, including the folks behind The Walking Dead.A tweet from the AMC show's official account features an artistic homage to the game, using Sheriff Rick Grimes as an appropriately western face for the logo.

With a "Happy #RedDeadRedemption2 Day from #TheWalkingDead!" caption, the artwork closely mirrors the images players have long associated with the game.

This release is the third in the Rockstar Games franchise, having launched Red Dead Revolver in 2004 and the smash hit follow-up Red Dead Redemption in 2010. Red Dead Redemption 2 acts as a prequel to the latter, set in 1889 and centering around the outlaw character Arthur Morgan. Critical reception has already been overwhelmingly positive, and there will be more features to come, including an online multiplayer option expected to be available in November.

A delay from the originally projected launch date in late 2017 has done nothing to dampen anticipation from longtime fans. In addition, despite the fact that the game has not been released on PC thus far, with no indications of when or if such a release will happen, industry analysts are already predicting that Redemption 2 will be the highest selling game of 2018, adding to Rockstar's impressive history of successful launches, such as their Grand Theft Auto franchise.
