A new sneak peek of The Walking Dead's upcoming Season 11 shows Daryl encountering a new mystery.

The trailer shows Daryl and Dog stumbling upon a corpse, a message and a mural somewhere in a network of underground subway tunnels. The corpse is handcuffed to a briefcase filled with money. Above it is the message, "It comes for us all." On the opposite wall, Daryl encounters a mural that depicts what looks to be a community of people, some with crowns and some without; the crowned elite locked in combat with the others. "Your crown or your life," reads one message in the mural.

The scene is likely a sneak peek of the upcoming season premiere, which is set to air on Aug. 22. In "Archeron: Part I," Maggie, Daryl and others embark on a risky mission to find food for the survival of Alexandria. However, a violent storm erupts which forces the group underground, into a subway tunnel. According to the episode description, "nerves fray and suspicions increase," resulting in chaos. It's not clear if the mural and the body are related to the events that will unfold in the underground tunnel, or if it foreshadows events to come in the Commonwealth.

The Walking Dead executive producer Scott Gimple stated that the Season 11 premiere will do things that have not been previously seen on the show. "The first episode is crazy," he said. "I cannot wait for people to see it. It's very, very big." Writer and producer Jim Barnes also suggested that The Walking Dead will be returning to the apocalyptic roots that took center stage in previous seasons.
