Chandler Riggs' exit from The Walking Dead is still a bit of a sore spot not just for fans, but for the actor and his family. His father has been very open about the frustrations that came with Carl Grimes being written off the show. Now, Riggs has expressed his disappointment at not being able to take part in the television series' ongoing adaptation of the Whisperers arc from the comics.

“I mean, yeah, I was looking forward to a lot of the storylines, specifically with Lydia because it was just such a unique story line for Carl and it meant so much to the story line,” Riggs said at the Walker Stalker Cruise 2019, according to ComicBook.com.

“But it’s all good, I’m on ABC,” he added, making reference to his new role on A Million Little Things.

Carl played a vital role in the comics version of the Whisperers arc. He began a relationship with Whisperers leader Alpha's daughter Lydia and helped turn her against the rest of her former group. Since Carl was killed during the events of Season 8, that role has instead been given to Henry, a new character created for the television series, though it's unclear at this time how closely his arc will mirror Carl's.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Nadia Hilker, Dan Fogler, Angel Theory, Lauren Ridloff and Eleanor Matsuura.
