SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for The Walking Dead “The Calm Before,” which aired on Sunday, March 24.

With what is arguably one of the season’s most emotional episodes airing on Sunday, The Walking Dead is pulling at fans’ heartstrings with a new series of posters.

The posters were shared via the shows’ official Twitter account and feature close-up images of Michonne (Danai Gurira), Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus). Across their faces appear the words “Avenge the Dead,” playing off of the massive batch of Avengers: Endgame character posters released by Marvel.

In the most recent episode, “The Calm Before,” Alpha kills several characters, including some central figures like Tara, Enid and Henry, and the tagline of the posters is clearly referring to their deaths.

Interestingly, this is not the only poster-related news Danai Gurira has been involved in lately. The recently released Avengers: Endgame poster originally featured her character, Okoye, but did not include her name, though the names of other actors whose characters were on the poster appeared at the top. In response to anger from fans, Marvel added Gurira’s name and re-released the poster.
