Jon Bernthal, after two seasons of fighting zombies alongside Andrew Lincoln on The Walking Dead, went on to play the vengeance-hungry Frank Castle of Marvel's The Punisher. Between those two roles, it's hard to imagine the actor as being afraid of anything, but his co-stars have found his kryptonite: Lincoln's driving.

On the first day of shooting for The Walking Dead, Bernthal rode shotgun in a police car with Lincoln at the wheel. Lincoln's character Rick was a small-town Georgian deputy sheriff, but Lincoln himself is British and was at the time new to both the USA and driving, according to EW.

Lincoln acknowledged his own inexperience when he described the incident: "It was throwing down the roadblock, and I think Jon Bernthal was terrified because I was driving and he knew that I had only spent three weeks in the country and I was still driving on the left-hand side of the road. And I had to break 60 to 70 miles per hour and then put the brakes on."

"Jon Bernthal is not a man that gets scared often," said Lincoln. "And after about the third take, he just went, ‘Andy, Andy, please slow down.’”

Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Rick's wife Lori, backed up the story from an observer's perspective. "So he went reverse in that shot — honestly, I think it was almost 40 miles an hour. You can see in the shot, Jon Bernthal gets out of the car s—ing himself... I’ve never seen Jon more scared.”
