The Swarm Buzzes Back Into Theaters

The surprise success of Piranha 3D didn't just open the door for a second round of over-the-top comedy horror in the water; it may also have resurrected the monster movie genre. Now we've got to look for killer bees, as well.

According to The Wrap, Paranormal Activity producer Steven Schneider and The Ring producer Roy Lee are preparing to remake The Swarm, the 1978 disaster movie about an invasion of killer bees from South America that starrred an apparently desperate for money Michael Caine. The new version will be the feature debut of commercials director Ash Bolland, who's in final negotiations to both write and direct.

Am I the only one who thinks that a 3D movie about bees would just be annoying?
