John Cena had a bad experience with empanadas while filming one scene as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker in James Gunn's upcoming film, The Suicide Squad.

While filming one of his scenes as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, Cena, unfortunately, had to do 31 takes while eating an empanada on-screen. Cena spoke about this nauseating memory during a panel at the CCXP Worlds 2020 event, as reported by Ringside News.

"There was a day where we shot on a rooftop where we’re all eating," Cena said about the scene in question. "I had to eat an empanada and I took it upon myself to try to eat the entire empanada in a seamless take, thinking that it’s gonna look great." The actor also added that eating one more empanada would have likely resulted in him vomiting. "But then people are going to see the movie and nobody’s going to care, so please -- remember the empanadas!"

Cena's character, Peacemaker, was created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette. The character first appeared in 1966's Fightin' 5 #40 and would later join the Suicide Squad. He has appeared in multiple popular DC Comics storylines including Kingdom ComeDoomsday Clock and 52.

In addition to The Suicide Squad, Cena's Peacemaker is set to appear in his own HBO Max series, which will also be helmed by James Gunn. Not much has been revealed about the series' plot, but Orange Is the New Black's Danielle Brooks was recently added to the cast as well as comedian Steve Agee. Additionally, Agee will portray both King Shark and Warden John Economos in The Suicide Squad, playing the latter in HBO Max's Peacemaker series.
