Some sets can create a grueling production for actors who have to wear super suits and capes while filming in the rain, a freezing cold forest or a burning hot desert. On the set of The Suicide Squad though, actors like John Cena had to mimic a hot jungle climate with frequent application of fake sweat.James Gunn posted a video on Twitter of the pro wrestler having his armpits misted by staff to give him the appearance of sweating through his polo shirt. The director joked in the post that "on most movies makeup artists are constantly dabbing the sweat off of actors," but that The Suicide Squad clearly took a different approach.RELATED: The Suicide Squad: Nathan Fillion's TDK Is Armless and Dangerous in New Clip

"We had to constantly keep the actors sweated up and dirty," Gunn continued, the purpose being to mimic the hot jungle climate of Corto Maltese, a landmark location from the DC Universe. The last time the region had been seen in live-action was on the Arrow television series for The CW.

In the video, Cena can be seen holding his arms extended outward as the perfect perspiration amount is applied. "Ah, the life," he says. He is also seen having his forehead dabbed to appear like his face is sweating.

This is not the craziest thing Cena had to deal with while filming for the upcoming blockbuster. The pro wrestler and actor revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he had to consume 36 empanadas while filming one scene for the movie.

However, it seems that Cena may have enjoyed all of the hijinks of Gunn's project, as he will be returning as his Peacemaker character for a new series on HBO Max, produced by the two. Production on the first season wrapped earlier this month, with Gunn hopeful for a second. The Suicide Squad will release next month on Aug. 6, in theaters and on HBO Max.
