A quick clip from James Gunn's The Suicide Squad removes any doubt that the DC Extended Universe film will utilize its R-rating.

The clip in question, which was shared as part of HBO Max's Same Day Premieres Trailer, sees Idris Elba's Robert DuBois/Bloodsport telling John Cena's Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, "No one likes a show-off." Peacemaker then quickly responds with, "Unless what they're showing off is dope as..." cutting off just before an F-bomb is dropped.

Serving as a soft reboot of David Ayer's Suicide SquadThe Suicide Squad began filming in September 2019 and wrapped the following February. The Suicide Squad will feature many new characters not included in Ayer's film, including Peter Capaldi's Thinker, David Dastmalchian's Polka-Dot Man, Michael Rooker's Savant and many more. Several actors from 2016's Suicide Squad will also reprise their roles, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

While little has been revealed about the plot of The Suicide Squad, Joel Kinnaman recently explained that "It's just the silliest, most violent, and at times, it's really moving. Just an absolutely ridiculous story. It's... yeah, you know, honestly, I think people are gonna love it."
