When Nathan Fillion was announced as part of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad cast, some fans guessed the Firefly actor would play an interesting hero called Arm-Fall-Off Boy. However, according to Fillion, this does not seem to be the case.

"That was never a comic I really dived into, so, I really didn't know who that was that they were talking about," he stated of Arm-Fall-Off Boy, adding, "It certainly wasn't the name I was reading in the script." The actor then explained, "So, I just said, 'Yeah, yeah, go for it. Whatever you guys think is great.'"

Fillion also revealed that he is nervous about keeping his real character's identity under wraps, among other things related to The Suicide Squad. "It's so secret. It's so super-duper secret," he continued. "So, I start to sweat a little bit when people start getting close to what I would consider something that's actually accurate. I'm the worst liar."

In DC Comics, the appropriately named Arm-Fall-Off-Boy possesses the power to remove his limbs. Created by Gerard Jones and Curt Swan, Arm-Fall-Off-Boy first appeared in 1989's Secret Origins Vol. 2 #46.

Most of the plot details and official characters of The Suicide Squad have been kept hidden, though there have been rumors that Ratcatcher, Peacemaker and Vigilante will all appear in the film.
