Task Force X will soon return to theaters in The Suicide Squad, with returning members like Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang as well as newcomers like Peacemaker and King Shark. While DC Comics has been known to be restrictive about which of its characters can or cannot be used in media adaptations, writer/director James Gunn revealed that DC allowed him to use all of the characters he asked for in the movie. In a comment on a tweet from Gunn featuring the film's newly-released second trailer, Gunn was asked if there were any characters DC Comics would not allow him to have for it. "No," Gunn replied. "I got every character I asked for, even though sometimes they were like WTF?"RELATED: The Suicide Squad Reveals One New Villain Is TRULY Evil

This is not the first time Gunn has shown that he had free rein with The Suicide Squad. Earlier this year, Gunn confirmed that Warner Bros. did not interfere with it. He said that the studio gave few notes, which he described as "usually good and minor," and that he chose whether or not to take them. In a later tweet, Gunn also told a fan that the movie was "no holds barred in any way" when said fan asked how it differed from his other movies.
