Fast and Furious 10 has expanded its cast further, adding The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior to the franchise.

Deadline is reporting that Melchior has boarded the film in an undisclosed role. She'll join series mainstays Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Michelle Rodriguez along with the recently returned Sung Kang. In addition to Melchior, fellow DC actor Jason Mamoa joined Fast 10 back in January.

Melchior was mostly known for working on Spanish-language TV shows before her big break arrived in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. The reboot of the 2016 DC film brought in numerous new characters and actors, with Melchior playing Ratcatcher 2, the daughter of comic book villain Ratcatcher (played briefly in the film by Taika Waititi). Gunn spent the lead-up to the film praising Melchior, and the movie's release saw his enthusiasm matched by critics. Along with Fast 10, Melchior has a number of projects in the works, including Marlowe with Liam Neeson and Assassins Club with Henry Goulding.

While details about Melchior's character are being kept under wraps, Mamoa will be playing the film's villain -- or at least one of them. "I'm gonna go do Fast 10, that's gonna be fun." Momoa said of his casting. "It's fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven't gotten to do for a while. Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!"

Fast 10 is the first of a two-part final installment for the saga, with Justin Lin returning to direct. Star and producer Vin Deisel explained in 2020 why the final film will be split in two, saying, "The universe is so robust and so rich with talent and rich with story that, on one level, it's totally feasible to have spinoffs, and I think that’s something that is inevitable."

Outside of the conclusion of the main franchise, an all-female Fast and Furious spinoff is reportedly still in the works starring Rodriguez. News has been scarce about the film, but the F9 stars are eager to see it happen.

Fast and Furious 10 arrives May 19, 2023.
