The Simpsons will pay tribute Sunday to Marcia Wallace, who for the past 23 years was the voice of Bart's teacher Edna Krabappel. The actress passed away Oct. 25 at age 70.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox will first replace a repeat of American Dad at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT with the 1992 Simpsons episode "Bart the Lover," for which Wallace received an Emmy Award.

In the Season 3 episode, Bart decides to prank his lonely teacher by responding to her personal ad as "Woodrow," who looks suspiciously like hockey player Gordie Howie. He eventually sets up a fake date with Ms. Krabappel, but after seeing her crying while sitting at the restaurant by herself, a guilt-ridden Bart tries so make amends.

"Bart the Lover" will be followed by a new episode of The Simpsons, "4 Regrettings and a Funeral" (featuring a Hobbit couch gag, below), which will end with a tribute card honoring Wallace. Showrunner Al Jean announced over the weekend that the show plans to "retire" Edna Krabappel.
