Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have unveiled the first trailer for "The Secret Life of Pets," the animated comedy that explores what our pets actually do when we leave each day.

Directed by Chris Renaud ("Despicable Me," "Despicable Me 2") and Yarrow Cheney. the film is set in a Manhattan apartment building, where Max's life his turned upside down when his owner bring home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. However, they must set their quarrel side once they discover an adorable white bunny named Snowball is assembling an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge against all those with homes, and their owners.

Based on a script by Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, "The Secret Life of Pets" stars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. The film opens in summer 2016.
