‘The Secret Life of Pets’ Delivers an Easter Greeting (Or is It a Warning?)

The Easter promo for “The Secret Life of Pets” unsurprisingly showcases Snowball, the adorable-looking little bunny … that shouldn’t be approached under any circumstances. Seriously, he’s violent. And sometimes poops when he laughs.

Directed by Chris Renaud (“Despicable Me,” “Despicable Me 2″) and Yarrow Cheney, the animated comedy from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment is set in a Manhattan apartment building, where faithful Max’s life is turned upside down when his owner bring home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. However, they must set their quarrel aside once they discover an adorable white bunny named Snowball is assembling an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge against all those with homes, and their owners.

Based on a script by Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, “The Secret Life of Pets” stars Louis C.K., Kevin Hart, Eric Stonestreet, Steve Coogan, Ellie Kemper, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Jenny Slate and Albert Brooks. The film arrives in July.
