Norman is one of the best characters from The Promised Neverland. When the manga began, he and Emma learned the truth about Grace Field and planned their escape with Ray. However, in order to save his siblings, Norman needed to sacrifice himself. While he was willing to do this and prepared to be eaten by a demon, it turned out that he was going to another farm, Lambda.

After helping the other children that were experimented on there, he became a God to them and took William Minerva's name. From there, he planned to kill all of the demons and make their world a place where humans could happily live. Throughout the manga, there are a lot of chapters that focus on Norman, with these ten being the best.

Shortly after letting Ray, Don, and Gilda know the truth about Grace Field, Norman and Emma found out that there was a traitor among their group. In order to figure out who the traitor was, Norman hid rope at four different locations. He told Don about the rope in the dining hall and told Gilda about the rope in the library.

He also told Ray that the ropes he hid from Don and Gilda were behind his bed and in the ceiling of the second floor's bathroom. Ray tried to frame Don as the traitor, but Norman outsmarted him. However, even though he knew that Ray was working with Isabella, Norman also understood that Ray was helping him the entire time and trusted him.

After breaking Emma's leg and revealing that Norman was going to be shipped out, it seemed that Isabella had won. All of his siblings who knew what was actually going on were worried about him and wanted to save him more than anything. While he tried to be strong for them, he felt awful, thinking that he would die soon. He thought about everything that he could do, but knew that in order to save his siblings, he couldn't escape.

When Ray and Emma told Norman to escape before he was shipped out, he refused to do so. However, they wouldn't take no for an answer and told him that he should only pretend to escape. He would then wait until the others were ready, then leave with them.

No matter how many problems he had with their plan, they explained why it would work, but he didn't want to put them in danger. Despite that, he pretended that he would go along with their plan.

7 Norman Discovered The Cliff In "Chapter 29: Concealment, Part 2"

After Norman finally got on top of Grace Field's wall, he returned to the house, shocking Emma, Ray, Don, and Gilda. It turned out that on the other side of the wall was a cliff, making it even harder for the children to escape. He also revealed that he didn't use Ray's device to get rid of the tracker, not wanting to go along with their plan. He then hugged his siblings, thanked them for everything they had done to give him a great life, and wished them the best.

6 Norman Was Shipped Out In "Chapter 30: Resistance"

In his final moments at Grace Field, Norman said goodbye to his family. Emma tried to stop him one last time by telling him to run as she tried to destroy the tracker in his ear. However, he was able to stop her, causing the two to argue in front of all of their younger siblings who didn't understand what was going on. Isabella stopped the fight by threatening Emma. After she brought Norman to the gate, she asked him to wait in a room. Little did he know that his journey was just beginning.

5 Norman Was Revealed To Be Alive In "Chapter 74: A Special Child"

While many readers thought that Norman died when he was shipped out, this wasn't actually the case. Instead, he went to another farm, Lambda, where scientists performed tests on him. When Isabella asked him to wait in the room inside the gate, Peter Ratri was waiting for them. He pretended to be kind to Norman, who was easily able to see through the act. Despite helping Peter with his research, Norman tried to figure out how to get out of Lambda and reunite with his siblings.

4 Norman Burned Down A Farm In "Chapter 113: The King Of Paradise"

After escaping from Lambda with the other children there and taking William Minerva's name, Norman and his new comrades started killing demons and freeing humans.

At one of the farms that they went to, they weren't able to save the children there and decided to burn the farm down. As he watched it burn, he thought about his new goal. As William Minerva, he would create a paradise for all of the humans.

3 Norman Reunited With His Siblings In "Chapter 119: Encounter"

When the Grace Field kids finally got to Norman's base, Emma was able to reunite with him. She was shocked and relieved to know that he was still alive. After the two hugged and spoke for a while, the rest of their family, as well as their new friends, got to see Norman. Ray's reaction was quite different to Emma's as he smacked Norman in the face before giving him a hug. Norman then told them everything that happened to him since he was shipped. He finally had his family back.

When Emma learned about Norman's plan to kill the demons, she and Ray tried to talk him out of it. However, nothing that they told him at the time convinced him to back down. Cislo, Barbara, Zazie, and Vincent were all worried that Norman would start listening to his family, but he reassured them that his goal hadn't changed. He didn't care if he would become a God or a Devil. He was going to do anything he had to in order to keep his loved ones safe.

1 Norman Changed His Plans In "Chapter 154: A Breakthrough"

After Norman killed the heads of the Five Regent Families, he revealed to Emma, Ray, and his friends that he had a short time to live due to the drugs he was given at Lambda. In that time, he wanted to do everything that he could to save himself, his loved ones, and even the demons he poisoned.

While Barbara, Zazie, and Cislo were able to accept this easily, Vincent was angry and felt betrayed. However, once they learned that it was possible for Adam to save all of the children who were drugged and that the base was in danger, Norman and his comrades understood that there were much more important things to focus on. To make matters even worse, Queen Legravalima came back to life and tried to eat Norman.
