The following contains major spoilers for Mighty Morphin #22, available now from BOOM! Studios.

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have made some incredible allies over the years. From the likes of Grace Sterling and Prometha's own Green Ranger to the Bronze Guardian of Eltar, it seems like the heroes always have a new helping hand to look to any time their situation becomes dire. In the case of Kimberly Ann Hart, who just so happens to be caught alone in the middle of a losing battle, the help she so desperately needs has come in the form of none other than one of the Rangers' long-lost gods. Not only has the Pink Emissary finally revealed herself, but she's also ushered in a brand-new era in the process.

Mighty Morphin #22 (by Mat Groom, Moises Hidalgo, Raul Angulo, and Ed Dukeshire) finds Kimberly and Tommy trapped within the pocket dimension and beset on all sides by the Rangers' future enemies from across time. With Tommy clinging to life and all hope lost, Kimberly is visited by none other than the Pink Emissary. This constantly shifting entity is more than a figment of every Pink Ranger that ever has or ever will be, but a living conduit for the Morphin Grid itself. The Emissary also happens to know more about Kimberly's journey than she does, although this shouldn't really come as any surprise.

Pink Ranger meets emissary

Well before she was transformed by the Morphin Grid, the woman who would become the Pink Emissary was introduced as Aleia in the pages of 2021's Power Rangers Universe #1 by Nicole Andelfinger and Simone Ragazzoni. When her world became the latest target in Dark Specter's crusade across the universe, Aleia was one of the few who tried and stave off the threat. Along the way, she joined her friends Rhian, Telosi, Xev, Phiro, and Orisonth in becoming the very first Power Rangers. Unfortunately, their connection to the Grid posed a lethal threat to the young heroes, though not as grave of one as Dark Specter.

The Morphin Masters gave their lives to save the Phantom Ranger from Dark Specter's clutches. In doing so, they didn't just put a stop to the villain's plot, they ascended to a new state of being as the Emissaries. While Rhian, Orisonth, and Phiro would remain behind in the reality they knew to watch over it from afar as the Red, Blue, and Yellow Emissaries, the others took to realities beyond. It's clear now that, at least for Aleia, one of these other dimensions was that of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers own creation. On the surface, this gives Kimberly and the others almost unfettered access to the newly discovered Emissary, yet it also raises some particularly interesting questions about what else is left to be discovered.

Pink Ranger can't fix thsi

Now that the Pink Emissary has been revealed, the only two who remain unaccounted for are her Green and Black counterparts. Presumably, they will be making their own introductions soon enough, although the longer that takes, the greater the cause for concern. Understanding why the Pink Emissary has never made her presence known before now goes a long way towards making the absence of her fellow Emissaries less unnerving. Beyond that, it gives a renewed sense of hope to the heroes who have spent months reeling from shocking betrayals and alien invasions, most of all to Kimberly herself.

The Emissaries have always been more than just fonts of strength or wisdom for the Power Rangers to turn to. As physical embodiments of every Ranger of their respective color, the Emissaries are proof of the heroes' legacies living on throughout the ages. For Kimberly to see that hers can be safely counted among those that will continue to carry on the fight against evil is an affirmation that everything she and her fellow Rangers have done was worth it. It might also be the best sign they could ask for that they still stand a chance against the might of Dark Specter, especially when the Pink Emissary has already beaten him once before.
