Superheroes aren’t the only fictional characters that can stick a power-landing. As it turns out, the Power Rangers are also pretty good at striking an iconic pose (literally) out of thin air.
The official Instagram account for the upcoming “Power Rangers” reboot has posted a looped video of the five titular rangers doing their best superhero landing onto the edge of a sandy cliff, with the words “Let’s Get Mighty” emblazoned behind them.
The film recently made news when it unveiled the rangers’ Zords -- giant mechanized warrior robots that come together to form a much larger, more deadly robot. The film also garnered attention when “Chronicle” and “American Ultra” writer Max Landis’ unused script for the film was posted to Reddit earlier this month.
“Power Rangers” is the film reboot of the television series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” which ran from 1993 to 1995. It is the third film in the franchise, though marks the first proper reboot for the property. “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” originally aired in Japan as “Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger,” but was significantly changed in localization when it first aired on the Fox Kids weekday afternoon block.
Releasing in theaters on March 24, “Power Rangers” is a production of Lionsgate directed by Dean Israelite and starring Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G and Ludi Lin.
