Disney Channel has unveiled an official trailer for "For the Future," the second of three specials that make up the third and final season of The Owl House.

Picking up after the events of The Owl House Season 3's first special, "Thanks to Them," the "For the Future" trailer sees Luz Noceda (Sarah-Nicole Robles) and her allies return to the Demon Realm, where The Collector (Fryda Wolff) is running amok -- even going as far as to transform the residents of the Boiling Isles into wooden puppets.

"For the Future" is slated to air on the Disney Channel on Saturday, Jan. 21. The episode's official synopsis reads as follows: "Luz and her friends race against Belos to confront the Collector and save the Boiling Isles."

The Owl House Concludes in 2023

Created by Dana Terrace, The Owl House initially premiered on the Disney Channel on Jan. 10, 2020, with Season 1 running for a total of 19 episodes and concluding on Aug. 29, 2020. Season 2 premiered on June 12, 2021, running for 21 episodes and concluding on May 28, 2022. One year prior, in May 2021, the Disney Channel renewed The Owl House for a shortened Season 3, which would also be its last.

As previously stated, Season 3 consists of only three episodes, though each runs at 44 minutes (about twice the length of a normal episode). The aforementioned "Thanks to Them" premiered on Oct. 15, 2022, with "For the Future" set to follow suit this month. The third and final Season 3 special will also arrive sometime this year to close out the series, though currently lacks an official title and release date. In the meantime, the first two seasons of The Owl House, plus the first Season 3 special, are currently available to stream on Disney+.

Where Did The Owl House's Most Recent Episodes Leave Off?

In the show's Season 2 finale, "King's Tide," Luz and company attempted to thwart the evil Emperor Belos/Philip Wittebane's (Matthew Rhys) Day of Unity, which, unbeknownst to the people of the Boiling Isles, would kill all witches and demons of the demon realm by draining their magic. King managed to stop Belos' draining spell by freeing The Collector, only for the mischievous being to pose a new threat by beginning to reshape the Boiling Isles in his own image.

With no other options, Luz, her girlfriend Amity Blight (Mae Whitman) and their friends Gus Porter (Issac Ryan Brown), Willow Park (Tati Gabrielle) and Hunter (Zeno Robinson) were forced to escape to Luz's native Human Realm, leaving King, Eda Clawthorne (Wendie Malick) and others to uncertain fates. Season 3's first special chronicled Luz and the gang's search of a way back to the Demon Realm -- which they ultimately found in their pursuit of Belos, who had secretly followed them to the Human Realm. What's more, Luz's mother Camila (Elizabeth Grullon) decided to join the crew in their final bid to save the Boiling Isles.

The Owl House Season 3, Episode 2, "For the Future," airs Jan. 21 on Disney Channel.
