Disney Channel has released an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming horror-comedy animated series The Owl House at New York Comic Con that gives fans a proper introduction to the main characters.

As the clip opens, series protagonist Luz (Sarah-Nicole Robles) is seen riding on the flying staff of Eda (Wendie Malick), who Luz realizes is a witch. Eda informs Luz that she's in the Boiling Isles, where every myth humans have is, as Eda puts it, "caused by a little bit of [the Demon Realm] leaking into [Earth]". This apparently includes giraffes, according to Eda.

Luz then asks if Eda can help her get back home, which Eda will do on the condition that Luz helps her first. Once at the eponymous Owl House, Luz meets the diminutive and cute King (Gravity Falls creator and star Alex Hirsch), who is instantly hugged by Luz, much to his horror.

Aside from showcasing beautiful animation and introducing the main characters, the sneak peek also shows off a bit of the series' humorous side, as well as giving fans a small taste of the world the show inhabits.
