With movie theaters around the world closed due to COVID-19, one of the biggest movies of the summer has been Netflix's The Old Guard. Now, the film has finally gotten the Honest Trailers treatment.

Since its July 10 release, The Old Guard has smashed records left and right. The Netflix film reached 72 million household views within the first four weeks of its release, making its way onto the list of the top 10 most popular Netflix films of all time alongside Martin Scorsese's The Irishman. The Old Guard also boasted another record: its director, Gine Prince-Bythewood, became the first Black female director whose work made it onto that coveted list.
Based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez, The Old Guard centers around a group of immortal mercenaries. They eventually discover that there is anew immortal in the world, taking off to find her as they avoid capture by a billionaire who wants to experiment on them and harness their healing factor.
Directed by Gina Pryce-Bythewood and written by Greg Rucka, The Old Guard stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Harry Melling. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
