The Office showrunner Greg Daniels recently spoke about revisiting Dunder Mifflin.

Although Daniels confirmed there are no active plans in development for a series revival, he ultimately didn't rule one out for the future. "It’s not impossible for sure," he told Collider. He added, "I would want to be involved, and I’ve got two other shows I’m working on right now."

Daniels ran as showrunner for Season 1 through Season 4 of the series, taking a hiatus from the role from Season 5 onwards to co-create Parks and Recreation.

Daniels currently is the showrunner for sci-fi comedy Upload and the Steve Carell starring comedy on Netflix, Space Force. Both series were recently renewed for a second season, so Daniels is presently focusing on these projects at this time. For now, all nine seasons of The Office are available to stream on Peacock. The first two seasons are available for free, with Seasons 3-9 and The Office: Superfan Episodes available on Peacock Premium for $4.99/month. The ad-free Peacock Premium Plus is $9.99/month.

However, it's worth noting that Peacock's streaming service is no stranger to reviving classic comedy television series. Peacock recently rebooted Saved by the Bell and created a channel on its service exclusively for Saved by the Bell content -- showcasing prior seasons and television movies on its platform.

In July 2020, Bill McGoldrick, President of Original Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment Networks and Direct-to-Consumer discussed whether or not NBC had reboot plans for The Office. He said, "We've talked about things we can do to support The Office once it gets to our service but a reboot has not come up specifically for Peacock." McGoldrick added that "lots of those ideas have been bandied about with people internally and with Greg Daniels and people associated with the show" and that "there are lots of creative ideas, we haven't landed on any one [specifically] right now." Fans speculated that this might mean a reunion special will be forthcoming on Peacock.

The Office stars Steve Carell, Rain Wilson, Mindy Kaling, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Ed Helms, B.J. Novak, Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartner, Phyllis Smith, Oscar Nunez, Ellie Kemper, Creed Bratton, Craig Robinson, Paul Lieberstein and Leslie David Baker. The series aired for nine seasons on NBC, from 2005 to 2013.
